When I Googled for a handyman on Capitol Hill I discovered www.capitolhillhandyman.com. I was very impressed when the owner, John Pierce showed over on the same day I emailed him to give us a bid. He’s lived on the Hill for a long time and because we’re both in Biznik he offered us a 10% discount on his $85/hour rate. He was here today doing some minor light fixture work. I’m very pleased. I found the company to be … Timely, Fast, and Clean. AND… resourceful! It was looking like one of our little projects might not be doable… but he found a way. YEAH! We’re thrilled.

One of our kitchen cabinets was coming apart and we needed it fixed fast.
What’s a person to do?! I quickly ran to Yelp to check out local handymen (and women), sending out emails to start the tedious process of selecting the best person for the job. I needed someone who could come out the fastest, had a good reputation, and who was fair with their pricing. After several days of correspondence with various folks in the greater Seattle area, I settled on the Capitol Hill Handyman!
John (the owner) answered all my emailed questions promptly and gave me a rough estimate based on the photographs/description that I sent. When he arrived, he assessed the cabinet and then explained what he planned to do. Before starting work, he laid down a tarp to protect our floor and granite countertops. All the work was done in the kitchen area and he was patient enough to explain what he was doing when asked.
The work was completed in less time than quoted, but still at the promised price estimate. I was pleased with the cost of the work and the finished work itself. Since writing my review, I have learned that John also provides a one-year warranty for his work! I would not hesitate to recommend John and his company for their fast, friendly service. We live in the Greenwood/Broadview area and he reiterated that despite his company’s name, he didn’t even mind doing jobs around the greater Seattle area.
A quick note about the I can’t speak to the last couple of reviews of lack of communication because as I said, my email replies were prompt. I also had good response times with texts.
